Peter is a current Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at Indiana University. He received his M.A. in Sociology from Indiana University in 2014 and B.A. in Sociology from SUNY Brockport in 2012. His research interests include formal organizations, field theory, institutional theory, and archival/textual analysis.
Peter’s research examines phenomenon at the intersection of culture and organizations, including career trajectories of contemporary artists and collecting strategies of elite art collectors (with Fabio Rojas) and mentoring strategies of art school professors. His dissertation examines the relationship between negotiated order, organizational culture, and organizational structure in the founding of the U.S. Federal Reserve.
Peter is also interested in promoting policy sociology and is founder and current editor of the series Sociology Policy Briefs.
